When private detective Hao Lei took over the first "never-stop elevator" disappearance case, he thought it was just a complicated mystery. Twelve people disappeared out of thin air, and surveillance showed that they never left the metal box. But as the investigation deepened, he discovered physically impossible traces of time and space, implanted memories, and strange prime number patterns in the data. This is just the beginning. The corpse in the mirror moves out of sync, the paper man walking on a rainy night asking for his life, the midnight broadcast that swallows the sound, the shadow dragging the child into the wall... Multiple unrelated cases but with the same weirdness followed one after another, and there were turbulent undercurrents under the calm surface of the city. Hao Lei formed a team with his wife Zhang Ying, a psychiatrist, Wang Tao, a Sanda champion, and Yue Dan, a hacker, and they uncovered the cocoon through reversals that subverted cognition again and again. The clue ultimately points to a mysterious organization called "Entropy Core." However, when they approached the core, they found that the "entropy core" itself was also afraid. The source of all the weirdness is actually the "standardized debugging" of the real universe by higher-dimensional "observers". And Hao Lei himself is an "abnormal anchor" that should not exist in this grand experiment...
