Tang Dynasty Physician: Bringing My Skills to the Capital

In the seventh year of the Guanyin era, bitter snow blankets Chang'an. Lin Chen, a third-year clinical medicine student, opens his eyes amid the exhaustion of his emergency department rotation and finds himself plunged into an age when the Tang Dynasty is just beginning to flourish, with everything still to be rebuilt. With no possessions to his name, but armed with modern medical knowledge and a broad grasp of other disciplines, he rises from a pile of straw outside Qinglong Temple in Chang'an and carefully puts down roots in this strange world, posing as a man with amnesia.

He has no intention of currying favor with the powerful, but a chance house call brings him face to face with Princess Changle, Li Lizhi, who is suffering from chest discomfort. The fragility and radiance beneath her apricot-yellow dress become the first ripple in his otherwise tranquil life as a physician. His gentle, measured manner in examining her and prescribing treatment, along with his dignity and composure, quietly win the heart of this beloved imperial princess. From then on, the doors to the imperial court begin to open for him.

At a palace banquet, he meets celebrated ministers of the Zhenguan era. His original medical insights dispel the doubts of the Imperial Medical Bureau, while he carefully navigates the rivalries between the emperor and his officials. In the bustling streets of the capital, he improves farming tools, makes soap, and promotes better hygiene. Through small changes, he improves people's lives and lets modern wisdom slowly take root in the flourishing Tang Dynasty.

From a young physician at a pharmacy in the Western Market to a healer whose influence reaches the court, Lin Chen uses modern knowledge as his brush and the spirit of the prosperous Tang as his paper, writing his own legend amid Chang'an's bricks and tiles and across the map of the realm. He changes the crown prince's fate and reshapes the course of the Tang Dynasty. As his career and love move forward together, he carves out a path of his own as a transmigrator, serving the people in the golden age of Zhenguan.
