Poor Life in Troubled Times: a Story of Three Women

In 1945 in Hefeng County, Xinjiang, three young Han women were on the verge of despair during the war and were rescued by a Mongolian company commander. To save their lives, they married Kazakh and Uyghur men respectively. In 2023, in order to fulfill her grandmother's last wish, Lin Xiaowen and her boyfriend Chen Lei went to Hefeng County to look for red stones, and accidentally traveled back to 1945. The two lines are intertwined, and the modern lovers witness and participate in the survival and choices of the three women in troubled times, and the truth of the red stone is far beyond everyone's imagination.
