Legendary Horseshoe Lake

On the eve of the 100th anniversary of Nankai University, Lin Qingxiao, a student from the School of Liberal Arts, has an indissoluble bond with Mati Lake because of his grandmother's poems. He meets Zhou Mubai, a young teacher from the School of Architecture. While exploring the mystery of the disappearance of Nanhu Lake, the two gradually uncover a dusty past: During the war in 1937, student Li Wenhan was ordered to transfer the school's precious cultural relics and bury them under the island in the middle of the lake. He made a promise to reunite with his lover Shen Qinghe, but they have been separated since then. Eighty years later, Lin Qingxiao and Zhou Mubai worked together, guided by documents, relics and detection technology, to bring this legend about family and country feelings, youthful love and cultural protection to light again. In the intertwining of history and reality, they not only fulfilled their commitment across time and space, but also found each other's academic direction and life destiny.
