A Collection of Vernacular Stories About Wonders of Modern and Ancient Times

My father told me many times that he would try to find a book called "Wonderful Views of Modern and Ancient Times", but he has never been able to do so and still feels deeply guilty. Unexpectedly, he found it by chance. Later I learned that this book was originally a collection of short stories in vernacular, compiled by the old man Bao Weng in the Ming Dynasty. The old man Bao Weng may have been his nickname, but unfortunately his real name cannot be verified. The content of the book is mainly selected from Feng Menglong's "Three Words" and Ling Shuchu's "Two Pai". The forty works in the book reflect the life, thoughts and feelings of the citizens at that time from multiple angles and in an all-round way. However, time flies and our parents have been away from us for more than thirty years. In order to express his deep memory for his parents, the author adapted the story written in this book and shared it with you, fulfilling his early wish.
