May Your Salary and Your Wishes Both Come True

Zeng Jia, an HR employee at an e-commerce platform, refers her unemployed boyfriend, Wang Haowen, for a senior secretary position with her boss so they can save up for a down payment on a house. By a strange twist of fate, the two of them both end up working as secretary and executive assistant to the company’s cofounders. But the two bosses are at odds and constantly at each other’s throats, so Zeng Jia and Wang Haowen dare not reveal their relationship, afraid they’ll both get fired. They put on an act of being strangers to handle the eccentric demands of the boss couple, while supporting each other in private at work. Gradually, they become trusted confidants to both bosses. But as two lowly office drones, they witness the deceit and hypocrisy of the wealthy elite. They also see the boss couple’s divorce turn into a vicious feud, with both even ending up in prison. Unwilling to be swept along by the glittering world of capital, they both quit and start their own business. They feel that the happiness they find in the warmth of everyday life is more solid and real.
