The Twenty-Four Gates of Bone China Town

The protagonist Lin Ye, 28 years old, is a freelance illustrator. He lived with his parents in a remote bone china town when he was a child. When he was 7 years old, he witnessed his mother walking into an abandoned bone china workshop in the west of the town and then disappearing. His father also disappeared mysteriously in search of his mother, leaving only an old notebook filled with strange bone china patterns. Lin Ye was picked up by a distant relative. After that, his memory of Bone China Town became blurry, but he often had nightmares about his mother. As an adult, he made a living by illustration. Patterns similar to bone china patterns always appeared in his works unconsciously, and he was particularly sensitive to the sound of confined spaces and the collision of porcelain.
