The Mysterious God-Slayer

The Godslayer Officer of the Occult

Folklore scholar Lu Jianyuan receives an encrypted phone call from a psychiatric hospital, and from that moment enters a world beyond ordinary understanding. The call mentions “Grinning Sickness,” while clues about his missing father, the legendary Godslayer Officer Lu Zhanjiang, lead him to the Nameless Clinic. Though it appears to be a medical clinic, it is actually a frontline post for handling anomalous events. There, he joins forces with Ji Canguang, a volatile former Godslayer Officer who uses his “Godslayer’s Will” to resist corruption.

The mysterious compass Lu Jianyuan inherited from his father is actually a fragment of the “Ring of Fate.” It allows him to glimpse “conceptual corruption” and the threads of destiny invisible to ordinary people. From investigating the origins of Grinning Sickness to exploring the “Blackwater Ancient Well,” the two discover that every occult incident points to the same secret organization, the Unity Society, which seeks to summon the Outer Gods and overturn the world.

In this world of occult mysteries and madness, Lu Jianyuan uses rational analysis and the insight of his Dueren bloodline to discern the rules, while Ji Canguang wields an iron will and a blade to purge divine corruption. They cross the boundary between reality and the inner world, facing life-and-death trials as they gradually uncover a shocking conspiracy that threatens the fate of the world.
