Chaosbound Mortal Oath

Li Quan, a farm boy, was born on a stormy night. His grandfather offered up his life and swore a solemn vow: “May he live as an ordinary man, untouched by worldly troubles.” In exchange, Li Quan was granted twelve years of an unremarkable life. But no vow can hold back the wheel of fate forever. An accident awakens the dormant spiritual root within him, stirring wind and thunder and attracting fangs lurking in the shadows. To find a chance at survival, Li Quan takes up the mysterious token his grandfather left behind and enters the perilous world of cultivation. He believes his spiritual root is merely the rare “Source of Earth,” but the token and an ancient fragment reveal a far more astonishing truth: deep in his blood lies the “Primordial Chaos Source,” coveted and feared even by the ancient immortals and gods. Ordinary life was a protective charm his grandfather bought for him by sacrificing his soul. It is also the final shackle Li Quan must break free of. On this thorn-strewn road to the heavens, how will Li Quan: Protect his loved ones and press on in a world ruled by the law of the strong devouring the weak? Wield the power of primordial chaos, capable of annihilating all things and creating heaven and earth? Uncover his grandfather's past, the secret behind the fall of the Xuanhuang Ancient Battlefield, and the ultimate connection between himself and the Primordial Chaos Source? From an ordinary mortal bound by a vow to a master of primordial chaos, every step Li Quan takes challenges the will of heaven: Who has the right to decide that I must live an ordinary life?
