A Thousand Times

In the Ning family of Qingyun City, there was a notorious “useless good-for-nothing.” His name was Ning Fan. His talent was ordinary, his aptitude mediocre, and after seven years of cultivation he was still only at the mid-stage of the lowest realm, Qi Nurturing. His family mocked him, his peers looked down on him, and everyone believed he would never amount to anything. No one knew that he got up before dawn every day to practice the basic fist form a thousand times, day after day, without fail. Others relied on talent to cultivate. He relied on sheer persistence. If a genius could succeed after doing something once, he would do it a hundred, a thousand, ten thousand times, until he was just as strong as a genius. At the family tournament, he defeated opponents whose cultivation was far beyond his own and stunned the entire clan. But that was only the beginning. After leaving his family and entering a sect, he faced the geniuses and powerhouses of the entire world, yet Ning Fan still relied on the simplest method: train harder than everyone else and endure longer than anyone else. No shortcuts, no lucky encounters, just real skill honed one punch and one kick at a time. From a mocked good-for-nothing to a powerhouse revered by the world, he spent a full twenty-two years walking this road. This is not the story of a genius, but an ordinary person's epic. When the gifted prodigies stopped in their tracks, Ning Fan was still training. When the mighty, arrogant powerhouses fell along the road, Ning Fan was still walking. At last, when he stood at the peak of the martial path and looked back... There was no one behind him, because no one had ever been able to persevere for so long. And his fists remained as plain and unadorned as ever, still striking a thousand times every day. The path to the summit can only be reached through perseverance.
