Sit on the Ground and Look at the Sky

The tower stands in the center of the world, so high that it pierces the clouds. They say that if you climb to the top of the tower, you can see the truth of the universe. But no one was allowed up there. We have lived at the bottom of the tower for generations, relying on the changes in light and shadow cast by the tower top to distinguish seasons and time. Until I discovered that the rhythm of those lights and shadows was a huge lie. And my eyes are born to see through all false light.
