The world is divided into "inside" and "outside". Outside the circle is the normal society recognized by ordinary people, while inside the circle are the "yin objects" that breed due to the "collapse of the order of heaven and earth" - they are the product of the combination of fragments of order and the obsession with killing people in vain, and they make a living by devouring the vitality of living creatures. People in the circle (collectively known as "Yin Zhen people") have been fighting against the Yin objects for generations, but they have set an iron rule: they must not let outsiders know about the existence of the Yin objects, otherwise the collapse of order will be accelerated. The root cause of the collapse of order lies in the fragmentation of the "Boundary Suppressing Bone" used to bind Yin objects in ancient times. The fragments are scattered in the world, part of which is swallowed by Yin objects, and the other part is turned into "ghost bone" - which contains the power of Yin objects, but also carries the curse of swallowing the host's mind.
