Game of Thrones: Empire

[A prequel to Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon]

“By rights, a court official of your standing has no authority to question me. But to satisfy your curiosity, I can tell you this.”

“The court’s ‘Black-and-Green conflict’ was a tangled affair, with everyone caught up in the chaos.”

“Many people rose to the pinnacle of power through their own efforts, or perhaps through sheer luck.”

“That pinnacle is dazzling, tempting, and dangerous in equal measure. It all depends on how you handle it.”

“The future is far harder to see clearly than the past. Desire and fear are intertwined in everyone’s heart.”

“Line of succession?”

“What do you know about the line of succession?”

“No one understands the line of succession better than I do!”

On the day he was born, a black dragon descended from the sky. The people called it the Dragon King’s birth!

At nine, he ignited the War of the Stepstones, crushed the Triarchy, and claimed dominion over the Disputed Lands. The people called him the King of the Disputed Lands, the Stepstones, and the Narrow Sea!

At thirty-three, he wielded power over the court, called a deer a horse, quelled the “Black-and-Green Rebellion,” and was crowned king. He was Laenor Velaryon I.
