Letters in the Fog

In this city, it fogs on time every morning. And after the fog clears, there will always be a letter with my name on the old mailbox on the street corner. The prophecies in the letter are never wrong: it can be as small as making things difficult for the editor, a cup of spilled coffee; as big as an appointment letter from a mysterious company with an astonishing salary; or even the truth of a death that has been shrouded in fog for twenty years... At first, I thought it was a gift. Until I received my first warning letter: "Don't investigate the origin of the fog." Surveillance failed to capture the person who submitted the letter, and the surrounding residents were accustomed to this. I'm the only one chasing the shadow in the fog like a madman. Because I discovered that what the letter predicted was my life. And the last letter will determine my existence: "When the fog clears, you will cease to exist." When I stayed up all night, waiting for the final fate, I discovered that maybe the sender I was chasing after was myself. And this city has never remembered my name.
