Netherworld Lantern Bearer

My name is Shen Fei, and I thought I would spend the rest of my life hanging around the shabby antique shop left by my grandfather, eating and waiting for death. Until that night, a guy holding the Book of the Dead broke in and insisted on giving me the bloody thing on the cover! By some strange combination of circumstances, I used the ancestral oil lamp, which had been passed down for generations and was covered with patina, to light the first page of the book... The green flame ignited, I saw it! See the smiling corpses rotting in the alley, and hear the cries of scratching nails in the walls! To make matters worse, I felt like part of me was being "eaten" by this damn brass lamp - something cold was crawling under my skin, and in my dreams there was always another "me" standing by the bed and making inhuman howls! When those "ghost realms" that swelled in the gaps of the city like living tumors opened their fangs, and when human beings evaporated in pieces under strange rules, I, a small shopkeeper with a broken lamp that I could barely control, became the only glimmer of light in some dark corners. The people in SRC want to recruit me as cannon fodder, and the old monsters of the "Remnant Lantern Club" are staring at my lamp and salivating, but deep in the light, a huge, cold, and incomprehensible "netherworld" is slowly opening its billions of eyes... In order to survive, I had to keep igniting more "flammable" things: a hairbrush soaked in despair, a cursed children's toy... Even my own memory! When the light itself begins to devour the Lord, can I, the lantern-holder holding the source of the curse, find that slim ray of hope before I completely slide into the abyss? Every step forward is accelerating one's own alienation - should one burn out as a "person" or become a "lamp" and live forever?
