Sword of Wrath

This is a martial arts tale of rivalries, revenge and redemption, and the struggles of human nature. After the Six Swords of the Heavenly Demon launch a rain-soaked attack, the young Wei Ji is drawn into the old feud between his father, Wei Tiexin, and “Demon of the World” Lu Zhiqing. Twenty years ago, Wei Tiexin lured Lu Zhiqing into a snake pit and violated his sister. Lu Zhiqing bided his time, then took his revenge by slaughtering Divine Sword Hall. After narrowly escaping, Wei Ji encounters Song Cunrui, the “Sage of the Desert,” at an ancient temple. Following eight years of grueling training, he masters the Four Forms of Floating Shadow and ventures into the martial world as the “Lord of the Blood-Seeking Order.”

He settles his master’s old feud on his behalf and obtains the divine weapon Wrathful Sword. But when he storms Heavenly Courage Sect, he is tortured. His beloved Wu Jing risks her life to save him, only to be killed by her father, Wu Lie, the “White-Faced Golden Roc.” After recuperating at Shaolin, Wei Ji wipes out a den of bandits and finally faces Lu Zhiqing in a decisive battle at Phoenix Plume Valley. As he dies, Lu Zhiqing reveals Wei Tiexin’s crimes. At the end of his quest for revenge, Wei Ji is left lost. In the end, he carves the character for “forgiveness” into his sword hilt, seeking redemption and bidding farewell to the blood-soaked martial world. With its sharp, vivid martial arts style, the story explores the meaning of revenge and the glimmer of light within human nature amid tangled feuds and passions.
