“Desire is a demon's sustenance. Despair is a crack in the gates of hell.” In 1991, Japan's bubble economy collapsed. By day, Tokyo reveled in the remnants of the economic bubble. At midnight, it feasted on the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons. The city was being devoured by the evil spirits it had spawned. The living fed demons with their desires. The dead tore the rules apart with their obsessions. On the run after being framed by the Bureau of Yin and Yang, the exorcist Lin Huangsi encounters a mysterious woman. “Your soul was pawned to Tsukimikan long ago.” The mysterious woman rips through space and drags him into a den of demons floating in the rift between the mortal world and the underworld. This is a refuge for the dead and their obsessions, a marketplace for the desires of the living, and a battlefield for the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons. And Lin Huangsi becomes its last “human manager.” Holding the moon-patterned key that can open the gates of hell, he smiles at Tsukimikan. The onmyoji who treated him as a pawn haven't yet realized that the ledger of this city's evil spirits will be filled with interest on a debt of vengeance.
