Savoring Joy in Broad Daylight

[Male lead takes by force / second male lead chases his wife to the crematorium] Three years into her marriage to Shang Muzhi. At a drinking party, a friend chatted with him over drinks. “I hear your first love is back in the country. Aren’t you worried Wen Zhi will find out you’re cheating and demand a divorce?” The man chuckled, utterly unafraid. “She won’t leave. Without me, who’d want to marry a poor orphan who’s already been divorced?” Later, Wen Zhi saw with her own eyes as he kissed someone else passionately. He even brazenly used her phone number to book a room with a king-size bed. Wen Zhi left without a word and filed for divorce. The next time they met, Shang Muzhi was on a business trip to Hong Kong. At an upscale gathering of Hong Kong’s elite, he saw Wen Zhi sitting among a group of heirs and heiresses, chatting and laughing. His eyes reddened, and he lost control. “Zhizhi, there’s nothing between me and her.” Outside the private room, Hong Kong’s most powerful man came to Wen Zhi’s side, wrapped an arm around her waist, and chuckled. “But she’s already with me.” - Everyone knew that Liang Jingyuan, the heir to Hong Kong’s most powerful family, was ruthless in his dealings. Yet he wore a strand of Buddhist prayer beads around his wrist year-round, as if repenting for his sins. No one knew that the beads had been given to him by a girl when they were young. Family turmoil forced him to leave the country, and he missed ten years with her. By the time he returned, she had gone to the mainland and married someone else. The beads broke, and desire stirred. He waited for Wen Zhi to get divorced.
