After Nursing My Frail Husband Back to Health, the Killer Heiress Drops the Act

Yu Tang and Wei Jiansui have been married for three months. They treat each other with respect and are known throughout the village as a loving couple. By day, Wei accompanies his wife, the physician Yu, as she examines patients and prescribes medicine, all while studying. Before long, Wei must travel to the capital to take the imperial examinations. Yu Tang closes her clinic and plans to accompany her husband, but her birth parents from the capital find her. In an instant, she goes from being a village doctor to the eldest legitimate daughter of a distinguished family. Yu Tang thinks she can settle into a peaceful life at last. But soon, the emperor falls into a coma, and chaos engulfs the capital. Out in the countryside, Yu Tang witnesses her frail husband, who she thought did nothing but study, dressed in black beneath the moonlight. He holds a sword, corpses lie in heaps beside him, and blood stains the hilt. Yu Tang is about to make a run for it when a sword plunges into the ground in front of her. Blood drips from its hilt as someone collapses before her, spitting blood. “My lady, there are bandits...” Yu Tang kicks him and says gently, “Still pretending? Keep it up.” - There is a guild in the jianghu called Anding. As long as a client can pay its price, it can deliver the head of even a nation's ruler. Yu Tang spent twenty years as its leader and had her fill of killing. During one mission, she was gravely wounded and disguised herself as a newly arrived village doctor. With a matchmaker's help, she married Wei Jiansui, the best scholar in the village.
