Dungeon: The Sourcefire Wanderer

He woke up to find himself transmigrated from the warmth of his bed to a gloomy, eerie medieval town. Well, at least he could earn a living by writing. Maybe some noble would even take a liking to him, and he could become a scholar or an adviser, then eventually earn a title or something. That was how Aiwen tried to reassure himself. And then... “What does ‘clear out the skeletons in the ruins’ mean?” He pointed at a bounty notice and asked. “Oh... If you don’t want that job, there are pigmen in the beast lair, bandits and witches in the wilderness, and fishmen in the bay. Oh, right, I heard there’s trouble in the courtyard too. Would you like to...?” Hamlet, once the jewel of the bay, was now a cursed land renowned far and wide. The dead wandered the ruins. Pigmen stalked through the beast lair. Bandits and witches lurked in the endless wilderness. Beneath the surging waves, fishmen of the deep chanted strange incantations. A comet blazing with strange light warped space and time. In the courtyard, the bloodline nobles raised their glasses, the wine in them as red as blood. And beneath it all, hidden deep in the dungeon, lay something utterly dark. Faced with all this, Aiwen helplessly pressed a hand to his forehead. “Fine. I was hoping to make something of myself with my wit and talent, but if things are like this, then I have no choice... Sourcefire, give me points!” A fire that gathered space and time kindled in the young man’s heart. He opened his eyes and picked up the serrated blade and pistol lying beside him. Once again, he would venture into that dungeon filled with madness and pain. But this time, he would not go alone. (A crossover fantasy setting, combining elements from Darkest Dungeon, Bloodborne, The Witcher, and other fantasy works.)
