Qian Poliu

In the final years of the Tang dynasty, Emperor Xizong, Li Xuan, lived in extravagant luxury and abused the people’s labor. The common folk were left destitute. Year after year, disasters struck and the land was strewn with the dead, yet the emperor made no effort to find a solution. He only cared about hoarding wealth for his own amusement, provoking widespread resentment and ultimately sparking the Huang Chao Rebellion. In this turbulent age, Qian Poliu was destined for greatness, setting out on a journey to vie for the realm and establish a new dynasty. His surname was Qian, and he was given the name Poliu because a midwife saved him. At birth, strange flames appeared and a giant lizard clung to the eaves. His biological father nearly drowned him, but the midwife saved his life. A fortune-teller said he was destined to be an emperor, but even his own parents refused to believe it.
