I understand that the author wants to shape the wizarding world to oppress poor and marginalized groups to pave the way for the protagonist. Of course, fans can set up some vague content at will, but many seemingly inconspicuous settings really involve some underlying things in Harry Potter. If you set it up like this, you must explain why some things are still the way they are. You set up that there is no subsidy for poor students, so you have to explain how Riddle went to school, you set up that werewolves can't hold wands, so you have to solve Lupin's social problems, you set up that Sprout wants to expel the vampire protagonist from school... I really can't reconcile this.
