My Older Sister’s Surprisingly Caring Life

Take everything in stride and enjoy life as it comes: that is Qi Simiao's outlook on life. She has no plans for the future, coasts through work, dumps men after she's had her fun, and considers family unimportant. Her attitude toward people and everything else is simply that none of it matters. The only reason she can live comfortably without worrying about food or clothing is that her best friend has her back.

A batch of pinewood orders pulls Qi Simiao and her best friend into a workplace dispute they can't easily escape. By a stroke of fate, she also meets Meng Xiaoyang, a young doctor she finds herself liking.

Her best friend is brutally crushed, and Qi Simiao has no one to lean on. A sudden workplace crisis, a suicide in their department, and one conspiracy after another leave her no choice but to abandon her indifferent attitude. She has to save herself, and her best friend too.

Meng Xiaoyang's peculiar, almost laughable emotional logic, shaped by his medical training, upends Qi Simiao's view that an older woman-younger man relationship is just a bit of fun. His initiative helps heal the wounds she has suffered, and their spiritual connection leaves her unable to remain carefree. Real-life conflicts and uncertainty shake the choices they make together.

Breaking through adversity in her career and the emotional ties that arise from one unexpected twist after another gradually awaken Qi Simiao's once-empty heart. A life where nothing matters may be smooth, but it's hollow. A life where things matter is full and filled with anticipation, but it is never destined to go smoothly. How will Qi Simiao make peace with herself and find balance?
