The Lucky Carp's Little Doctor Wife

Someone: “My wife only has eyes and a heart for me. She puts me first in everything. When the wind picks up, she's afraid I'll catch a chill; when it rains, she's afraid I'll get wet. Even when we eat, she worries I'll burn my mouth, so she has to taste the food first. Believe it or not, if I yell, she'll drop to her knees at once.” Crony A: “Who was kneeling outside in the wind and rain yesterday?” “...Uh, I was demonstrating it to her.” Crony B: “And who was kneeling outside in the wind and rain the day before?” “...Uh, my wife isn't the sharpest. Demonstrating once wasn't enough, so I had to do it twice.” Crony C: “Then why were you still kneeling outside in the wind and rain the day before that?” “...Uh.” All three cried out indignantly, “A shrew like that must be divorced, or heaven's justice is a joke!” “A shrew brings her husband good fortune. My wife was born with a lucky face for her husband. Divorcing her would be the real injustice!” Years later, the good-for-nothing who once knew no learning and did every kind of evil became a widely read, powerful Grand Secretary. His students asked him how he'd managed to turn his fortunes around. The Grand Secretary thought for a moment. “Listen to your wife, and you'll have food to eat, money to spend, and an official post.”
