The Three Blossoms of Ningcheng

Whampoa Military Academy has enrolled a total of 23 classes of cadets in mainland China, of which four have admitted girls. They are: the fifth phase of Huangpu Wuhan Branch during the Northern Expedition in 1926; the fifteenth phase of Huangpu Seventh Branch during the Anti-Japanese War in 1938 (then known as the Girls' Team of the Special Section Brigade of the 2nd Corps of the Seventh Branch of the Central Army Military Academy , trained in Fengxiang County, Shaanxi); in 1939, the 16th batch of the third branch of Huangpu (enlisted in Ji'an, Jiangxi Province in early 1939); and in 1940, the 18th batch of the 2nd Corps of Huangpu Chengdu School (training class for cadres stationed in Jiangxi). The total number of female trainees graduating from the fourth phase is about 800.
