[Sweet romance + obsessive entertainment mogul × carefree, pampered young lady]

Everyone knew that the third young master of Luocheng’s Fu family, Fu Jingsheng, was elegant and refined, proud and obsessive. What no one knew was that he had carefully plotted every step, all to win Nan Yan, the youngest daughter of the Nan family, whose engagement had been broken off by his nephew.

Nan Yan never expected that after she’d already stepped one foot into the graveyard of marriage, someone would drag her right back out. That someone was her ex-fiancé’s uncle, Fu Jingheng.

Just as she was congratulating herself on escaping the fire pit, he suddenly confessed with overwhelming force: “Will you marry me?”

She wanted nothing to do with him. “Uncle, you can’t force a melon to be sweet.”

“You’ll find out if it’s sweet after you pick it and take a bite.”

“If it’s bitter, wouldn’t it be a shame to pick it? Why not let it keep growing on the vine?”

Later, he dragged the whole vine home with him, insisting, “A change of scenery will help it grow.”

Later still, her ex-fiancé came to his senses and begged to reconcile. As Nan Yan looked down on him and wondered how to turn him down, a cool, cutting voice drifted over from behind her: “Your great-aunt doesn’t eat reheated leftovers.”
