Tying a Red String for the King of Hell

Career The Matchmaker is a job that demands round-the-clock availability, all year long, without a single day off. It is a prestigious position with a generous salary and full benefits, but no time to enjoy them. After the previous Matchmaker retired in glory, the position remained vacant for just one hour before it was successfully handed to Yuan Zhi. Yuan Zhi, the former Matchmaker's first disciple and assistant, was forced to take over the position with tears in her eyes after her master retired. But then the Five Realms underwent a reform, and Yuan Zhi's workload skyrocketed. Her responsibilities expanded from the three realms of mortals, immortals, and demons to include the Underworld and the Realm of Devils. Looking down at her mounting workload, Yuan Zhi reckoned that in less than two hundred years, she would become the first immortal in the Immortal Realm to die from overwork. Romance One day, Yuan Zhi was fretting over the romantic prospects of the Black and White Impermanence brothers when an immortal attendant hurried in to report. “L-Lord Immortal! Yan Zhan, heir to the Underworld King, has come to visit.” The attendant had barely finished speaking when Yan Zhan barged in with a dark expression. He swept the documents from Yuan Zhi's hands and met her astonished gaze. They stared at each other for a moment. Then Yan Zhan's face crumpled with grievance. “How could you match me with some random fox spirit? This heir has no interest in her. Find me someone else.” Yuan Zhi felt her brow twitch, but kept her temper in check and put on a customer-first smile. “Does Your Highness have someone in mind?” Yan Zhan: “I do.” Yuan Zhi: “May I ask which young lady?” Yan Zhan: “You.” Yuan Zhi froze, then picked up the documents he'd swept aside. “Your Highness, you're interrupting my work.”
