Spring in the East

In 1977, the winds of reform began to blow. Even the Dong family, living in a poor mountain region in the south, was swept up in the changes. The eldest daughter, Dong Fang, broke free from the limitations of her family background, went to university through the national college entrance examination, and completely changed her fate. By chance, Dong Fang, bold yet meticulous, earned her first fortune by making speakers herself. She then quit her job to go into business, beginning her entrepreneurial journey in earnest. From running a seed farm to entering the animal-feed industry, the setbacks never stopped: debt crises, jealousy and suspicion, being trapped on her own premises, betrayal by trusted associates, and even rivals smearing and framing her. But with her own resolve and astonishing perseverance, Dong Fang shouldered every burden, turning one crisis after another into opportunity and leading the people of her impoverished mountain community to prosperity. After decades of ups and downs, Dong Fang wrote a chapter of her own in the story of her times, guided by the Chinese spirit of never giving up!
