Cultivating with the Heavenly Book

The Heavenly Book said that one day, a thousand-year-old iron tree would blossom and a withered vine ten thousand years old would sprout again. It did not say that someone would sit in meditation for ten thousand years waiting for it. The Heavenly Book said that one day, emerald bamboo would stretch as far as the eye could see, and a koi would finally transform into a golden dragon. It did not say that someone would nurture the tree with their blood and feed the koi with their flesh. The Heavenly Book said that one year, the great river would flow backward and crows would fill the sky. It did not say that someone would venture alone into the Nine Hells to battle demons and ascend to the Azure Heavens to slay immortals. This is the story of a boy who walks through darkness, defies heaven to be reborn, grasps the Heavenly Book, commands the fate of the world, alters cause and effect, and seeks immortality.
