Romance of the Late Ming Dynasty

At the end of the Ming Dynasty, the world was unkind, the court was ignorant and immoral, the powerful were plundering, the people were displaced, and heroes from all walks of life rose up in rebellion. At the same time, there are two quiet small mountain villages in Liangshan, Shandong, namely Dongshixiang and Xishixiang. The names of these two mountain villages come from the 108 generals and stone figures. There is a legend circulating here. It is said that when our ancestors first came, they suddenly saw lightning and thunder in Nanshan Mountain, as if the sky was about to fall. From time to time, there were electric dragons that covered the sky and the sun shuttled through the dark clouds, which was magnificent and terrifying. When people came here, they saw 108 majestic stone statues placed in an orderly manner on the top of the mountain. They were the heroes of Liangshan in the past. There was also a rumor that a real dragon must appear here. When the court heard about it, they ordered all the stone statues to be smashed. Although these two villages were still Shixiang villages, there was no sign of Shixiang.
