Lin Fengxi was the legitimate daughter of the Lin family. But her vicious stepmother tried to kill her when she was still a child, and the phoenix destined for the heavens fell into the mud overnight, reduced to the status of a lowly concubine-born daughter in the household.
With a mysterious space at her disposal, a divine-grade cauldron in hand, and alchemy talent so extraordinary it would blind everyone, the day she rose to power was bound to come.

“Brother, here's a cultivation manual. I went to a lot of trouble to steal it from under Fourth Uncle's pillow.” Lin Fengxi handed him a picture book filled with drawings of little people.
“Little sis, why are the poses in this manual so weird?”
“It's fine. Just practice them like it says. Once you've mastered them, you'll be famous throughout the martial world, feared across the four seas, and become two great heroes who right wrongs and help the helpless.”
“Oh.”

“You demoness! That day, it was you...”
When the young man in black learned the truth, he held a golden sword to Lin Fengxi's neck, looking ready to swear an oath to cut her down.
“It wasn't me,” Lin Fengxi hurriedly denied. Good grief, how had this little tyrant discovered the truth about what happened back then?
“You're still denying it?” the young man in black snapped. The sword in his hand pressed an inch closer.
“Fine, I'll let you have a look back,” Lin Fengxi said, instantly undoing her clothes.
“Shameless!” The young man's face turned bright red. He quickly lowered his golden sword and turned away.
What a blushing innocent. I haven't even done anything, Lin Fengxi thought, summoning her flying treasure and fleeing a thousand meters away.
“Lin Fengxi, get back here!”
“Fat chance! Only an idiot would stay put and let you chop them up.”

One day, outside the Ninefold Palace, a city guard rushed into the great hall in a panic.
“Ancestor, disaster! Someone is shouting abuse outside the city,” the guard reported fearfully, prostrating himself on the ground.
On a soft jade couch in the magnificent hall reclined a breathtakingly beautiful man, his face like a flower and his bones like jade. His star-bright eyes were lowered as he gently swirled a white jade cup in his hand. His cold, merciless voice rang out from the seat of honor.
“Drag the women to the back mountain to feed the snakes. Skin and dismember the men, then light them like lanterns. Hang their heads on the city wall as a warning to others.”
“Ancestor, that... might not be appropriate,” the city guard stammered. “The person said that if you don't show up within a quarter of an hour, she'll take your son and go find him a new father.” As he spoke, cold sweat poured down the guard's forehead, and he pressed himself even lower to the ground.
A moment later, a gust of wind swept him off his feet. From far away, a roar came on the wind: “Lin Fengxi, you dare!”
Everyone in the hall froze at the sound. Was this really the same Ancestor who was usually so aloof, exalted, and unpredictable? It couldn't be. Could it?
He was the supreme ruler of the demon realm, with a million demons prostrate at his feet. Yet he had lost his heart to one person, and even if it cost him his life and cultivation, he would have no regrets.
Not bad!
