She is the eldest legitimate daughter of the Hua family, yet the least favored.
Born into a family of musicians, she knows nothing of music and cannot carry a tune, making her the laughingstock of the Hua family.
Is it wrong to love someone? If you’re neither beautiful nor clever, then it’s a grave mistake.
A rainstorm and a zither did not win the Crown Prince’s heart, but they brought Hua Lianyan a new life.
When she opened her eyes again, she was no longer the timid girl everyone could bully.
If anyone insults her again, she’ll make them dizzy and sick for three days and nights with a “Dream Wutong.”
If anyone dares to bully her, she’ll summon a wolf of the Cangyuan Plains to make them howl in terror.
What does it matter if she can’t play the zither? She is a genius summoner.
With a simple gesture of her hands, she can command every plant and animal in the world.
Fortunes change. The timid little girl of the past makes a dazzling transformation in an instant.
The whole realm is swept into turmoil. Whoever wins Lianyan wins the world.
But after the bloodshed, who is the one who truly holds you in their heart?
Dramatic synopsis:
“So eager to break off our engagement. You must have already hooked up with someone else.” He lowered his voice beside her ear, his breath brushing her neck.
She raised an eyebrow and smiled faintly. “Your Highness seems to have forgotten that you were the one who insisted on breaking off the engagement, not me. Lianyan merely granted your wish. Since there is nothing between us, who I get involved with is none of your concern!”
He swept out a hand and clamped it around her slender neck, sneering. “I can take back what I discarded! There is nothing in this world I cannot have if I want it, including you!”
“Is that so?” She kept smiling at him, her gaze icy.
“Stay. I’ll give you a lifetime of love and care, one that will never fade!” He held out his hand, palm up, and made his promise with unwavering resolve.
But her smile broke. “That’s affection, not love. Even a lifetime of favor would make me no more than a caged songbird. That isn’t what I want.”
She walked step by step toward the door. The warm evening sun seemed about to disappear.
“What is it you want?” he asked behind her, suddenly flustered.
She glanced back with a faint smile, her eyes hollow. “Two hearts devoted to each other, together until our hair turns white. Love without suspicion, and never betraying one another.”
Watching her lonely figure walk away, he understood that some things could never be undone.
“Those who bully me will pay! Those who harm me will die! I repay even the smallest kindness a hundredfold, and if anyone crosses me, I’ll make them pay!” Standing atop the high generals’ platform, her sleeves fluttered and her bearing was proud. Two white tigers with black stripes lay obediently at her side.
