Lectures on Special Topics on Ancient Chinese Literary Theory

Dang Yueyao Xiong Xiang

185K0

The tentative title of this book is "Special Lectures on Ancient Chinese Literary Theory". It is a reading book on ancient Chinese literary theory for undergraduates majoring in Chinese. The focus of this book is mainly reflected in the following two aspects. First, it conducts thematic analysis around the core topics of ancient literary theory, transforms its own research results, and actively absorbs recent academic results. While being academic, it allows students (readers) to understand relevant research trends and deepen their understanding of traditional literary theory. The second is to effectively integrate the sorting out of literary theory themes and the reading of literary theory works. The selection of literary theory focuses more on the annotation of the works but less on the sorting out of theoretical ideas, while the history of literary theory focuses more on the sorting out of theoretical ideas but less on the in-depth interpretation of the works. This book integrates the analysis of classic works into the corresponding thematic context. The focus of reading literary theory works is not on the interpretation of words, but on examining the discourse composition and flow of meaning of literary theory works, that is, solving the problem of "why the author wrote this way", and then indicating a method of close reading of texts. The following is a tentative table of contents. Only part of it is currently completed, and one or two more chapters may be added later.

A Land of Intertwined Destinies: a History of Southeastern Europe

(germany) Marie-janina Chalic

527K0

"Strong empires are all similar, but unfortunate countries have their own misfortunes." Different ethnic groups living in Southeast Europe undoubtedly have many common historical experiences, but they have never been able to find a unified identity. A unique diversity has developed here, and this quality is precisely the result of thousands of years of cross-regional exchanges. Marie-Janina Chalic chooses to narrate the history of Southeast Europe from the unconventional perspective of world interdependence, because many historical processes cannot be understood at all if we think only within the framework of closed regions and countries. By examining cross-border interactions, connections, and experiences, interspersed with micro-narratives that are highly humane and graphic, Chalik presents a new, multi-faceted picture that is completely different from the stereotype of the backward, ever-violent "European Other" in Southeastern Europe. From this, it is not difficult for readers to discover that the story of this land is far richer and more vivid than what traditional historical narratives present.

(u. S.) William Joseph Long

Literature does not deal with our rationality, but with our emotions and imagination. Its charm lies not in its literal meaning but in its ability to awaken something within us. Based on his profound understanding of human history and civilization, Lang, the author of this book, has made an accurate and interesting review of the history of British literature from 1620 to 1900. He has used poetic words to outline the lives and anecdotes of famous British writers, and has a profound understanding of British literature during this period. The works have been insightfully selected and appreciated. Readers can sense the author's concern for the other side of history and his passion for reality from between the lines. Under their guidance, they can understand literature, enjoy literature, and realize the beauty of literature that "time will not make it grow old, and death will not let it be destroyed." The translator has been translating this book since 2007, taking honesty and elegance as his criterion and striving to present the appearance and purpose of the original work authentically.

Research on Sex Slavery in Tang Dynasty

Wu Shuguo

217K0

This book is a monograph that systematically studies sex labor in the Tang Dynasty. On the basis of affirming that sex service in the Tang Dynasty was an independent type of service, this paper gave a new interpretation to the characteristics, hierarchical classification, nature, and issues such as period and service period, payment of wages and payment of fees, etc. Of sex service in the early Tang Dynasty. At the same time, based on the institutional changes in the Tang and Song Dynasties, the evolution of sex service in the late Tang Dynasty and its relationship with the job service in the Song Dynasty were analyzed. In addition, this book also examines the Tang Dynasty sex service in the evolution of the overall service system in ancient China, revealing the key role it played in the early and late transitions of the ancient Chinese service system. In recent years, sex service in the Tang Dynasty has received very little attention as a traditional topic in the study of the economic history of the Tang Dynasty. I hope this book can promote the expansion of this topic and thus provide help for the overall study of the ancient Chinese service system.

Barefoot Doctors and Modern Medicine in Rural China

Fang Xiaoping

186K0

In 1968, under the great call to "put the focus of medical and health care in rural areas", not only a large number of doctors from urban hospitals were "decentralized" to the countryside, but starting from Chuansha County in the suburbs of Shanghai, they were called "our own doctors for our poor and lower-middle peasants" The "Barefoot Doctor" also alleviated the shortage of doctors and medicines in backward rural areas to some extent, initiated the attempt to integrate traditional Chinese and Western medicine, established a "cooperative medical system" based on communes and teams, and also created the "myth" of contemporary Hua Tuo and Sun Lizhe. In fact, barefoot doctors, together with commune and team cadres, private teachers, agricultural technicians, and accountants of large and small teams, constitute a certain quasi-knowledge, technology, or management class that corresponds to the authentic "mud-legged men." This book restores the collective memory of doctors and patients in a special time and space through oral interviews and written archives, and also makes the narrative of the history of China's medical system more comprehensive.

Tianxia, china and Dynasties: Re-understanding the Political and Geographical Structure of Ancient China

Cheng Yinong

201K0

This book attempts to adopt the perspective of "viewing with the times" to analyze important concepts such as "tianxia", "order of the world", "name of the country", "name of the world", "China", "dynasty", "dynasty", "border" and "frontier" that are often used in the study of ancient Chinese history. It is further proposed that in modern times, we have been accustomed to understand and narrate ancient Chinese history from the perspective of "hindsight" and based on Western history and modern concepts. However, because the two are incompatible in terms of historical process and cultural tradition, some historical and practical problems that are difficult to explain have naturally arisen. Based on the above understanding, this book ultimately believes that the narrative of "Chinese history" formed in modern times is not actually "Chinese history" under the traditional Chinese discourse system. In the future, we should take China as the center and think deeply about the narrative method of "Chinese history". This should be the need of China and the world in the current era.

The Bohai State was a political power established in the northeastern frontier of the Tang Dynasty with the Mohe people as rulers. This book conducts a systematic and in-depth study of Bohai State's central political system, military system, local political system, Dynasty and Tang Dynasty system, Bohai State's exchange system with Japan as a border government of the Tang Dynasty, and its exchange system with neighboring governments and ethnic groups. In the absence of historical data, we tried our best to exhaust the literature and make full use of the epigraphy, stone inscriptions and archaeological materials unearthed over the years to conduct research. At the same time, we paid attention to collecting and absorbing existing research results from domestic and foreign academic circles such as China, Japan, North Korea, South Korea, and Russia. We conducted a relatively extensive discussion on various viewpoints and strived to get as close as possible to the original appearance of Bohai State's political system. The book contains not only the new viewpoints put forward by the author, but also the discussion and analysis of controversial academic issues in domestic and foreign academic circles. It reflects the author's broader international academic vision and advances the study of Bohai's political system to a new academic research level.

Interpret political operations from a global perspective, analyze historical events in the causal chain, and strive to "understand the changes of ancient and modern times." Understand macro conflicts in micro details, deduce subtle psychology in real contexts, and strive to see the big from the small and lift things lightly. More than 300 pictures are selected to help readers establish a concrete understanding of the late Qing Dynasty. See people, see things, see the way of the world, have reason, evidence, and emotion, see the rise and fall, see the human heart, there is the past, the present, and the future. Concise but not simple, rich but not complicated.

On the day of National Day, I followed Vice President Zhou Hongwei for an emergency visit. On the phone, the parent almost fainted from crying: "The child accidentally swallowed a fish bone, his respiratory tract was ruptured, and blood has overflowed into his throat!" But halfway through the ambulance, Zhou Yuan saw a wild pond through the window, and he shouted excitedly to stop. "Stop the car quickly! I really don't see such a nice wild pond very often!" I was so anxious that I was furious: "Dean, the child can't wait!!!" But Zhou Yuan gave me a cold look. He slowly took off his white coat and put on his sunglasses. "Xiao Chen, bring me the fishing tackle from my trunk. There's a lot of stuff hidden in this place. It's the perfect place to make a nest."
