About This Novel

This book attempts to adopt the perspective of "viewing with the times" to analyze important concepts such as "tianxia", "order of the world", "name of the country", "name of the world", "China", "dynasty", "dynasty", "border" and "frontier" that are often used in the study of ancient Chinese history. It is further proposed that in modern times, we have been accustomed to understand and narrate ancient Chinese history from the perspective of "hindsight" and based on Western history and modern concepts. However, because the two are incompatible in terms of historical process and cultural tradition, some historical and practical problems that are difficult to explain have naturally arisen. Based on the above understanding, this book ultimately believes that the narrative of "Chinese history" formed in modern times is not actually "Chinese history" under the traditional Chinese discourse system. In the future, we should take China as the center and think deeply about the narrative method of "Chinese history". This should be the need of China and the world in the current era.
