This book tells the story of Chen Mingfu, the teacher of the author Xu Jingeng, who persistently pursued his writing career. His talents and achievements come from working harder and experiencing more suffering than others. He endured the humiliation, straightened his chest, shouldered moral responsibility with iron shoulders, and wrote articles with skillful hands. In his field of vision, there are not only ancient emperors, generals, ministers, and literary giants, but also the common people and all living beings around him. In his mind, there is not only national territory and national territory, the rise and fall of the nation, but also cynicism and pity for the poor and the weak. This demonstrates the valuable qualities of a generation of intellectuals in the Republic - constant self-improvement, a world-minded attitude, and the courage to take on responsibilities.
