It is an important work that was created with great concentration after traveling in more than ten mountainous villages in Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Anhui, and Fujian provinces for many years. In December 1941, Japan attacked Pearl Harbor and the United States declared war on Japan. In April 1942, U. S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Doolittle led 16 bombers to conduct air raids on Tokyo and other cities, known in history as "Operation Doolittle." After the mission was completed, 15 US military aircraft crashed or made forced landings in Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Anhui and Fujian. The Chinese military and civilians launched a magnificent rescue operation with Quzhou as the center, risking their lives to rescue 64 US military pilots and successfully escaped. Relying on in-depth field research and solid historical research, the author traces the complete process of the operation in detail, focusing on recording the vivid details of the heroic rescue by Chinese soldiers and civilians, and recreating the deep friendship between the Chinese and American people forged with blood and fire from generation to generation.
