Rising Star Actress x Disabled Best Actor | Female Lead Is Not a Virgin, Male Lead Is

Wen Tang is a dazzling new star in the entertainment industry, with her career soaring and rumors flying, yet she never stays with anyone. Until a variety show about supporting people with disabilities pairs her with Zhou Yan'an, the actor who once captivated audiences on screen but now lives a secluded life after being paralyzed in a horseback-riding accident.

He sits in a wheelchair, his fingers too weak to hold a cup, his waist and abdomen too limp to exert any strength, and even his leg spasms are feeble. Wen Tang should keep her distance, but she can't help herself. She helps him in and out of his wheelchair, and even holds his spasming hand all night when he has a fever.

"Teacher Zhou, your ears are red."

She's always like this, taking care of him tenderly while teasing him mercilessly. Her fingertips trace the hollow of his waist, her lips brush his Adam's apple, and when he can't catch his breath, she deepens the kiss until the corners of his eyes turn red and his fingers curl, yet he's too weak to push her away.

Zhou Yan'an falls for her without a sound.

He knows he should resist, yet instinctively leans closer whenever she reaches out. He knows he should keep his distance, yet deliberately drifts into the frame during her livestreams. The fans can all see how he feels, but Wen Tang plays dumb. She helps with his rehabilitation, and even takes him to the hospital in the middle of the night in the rain, yet never says those words: "Let's be together."

"Wen Tang," he calls her hoarsely, his weak fingers clutching the hem of her clothes. "Do you even want me?"

She smiles and kisses the corner of his mouth, still refusing to answer.

[You clearly have feelings for him. Why are you afraid to commit?]

Because of his disabled body, because her career is at its peak.

[You clearly want her. Why are you afraid to fight for her?]

Because he fears becoming a burden to her, because even embracing her has to be her idea.

Their love is like a tender torture. The more considerate she is, the deeper he sinks; the more he falls for her, the more she retreats. Until one day, Zhou Yan'an grips her wrist with his not-quite-cooperative left hand.

"Wen Tang," he says, his voice trembling. "Would you... try loving me?"

Divorced couple / bittersweet push and pull / rekindled love

Can a passionate young love really turn into mutual resentment?

Jiang Shi'an and Zhou Huai were once the fairy-tale couple everyone at school envied.

They got married right after graduation, their smiles in the wedding photos so radiant they almost hurt to look at. Their friends all said they'd become the perfect picture of love.

Until the second year after their honeymoon, when a car accident shattered all their hopes.

Zhou Huai was left paralyzed from the neck down, bound to a wheelchair for the rest of his life.

Jiang Shi'an quit her job and spent two years by his side, helping him with rehabilitation, adjusting to life, and learning how to live on in an imperfect body.

In the third year, she returned to work and chose a job that required frequent business trips to make ends meet.

In the fourth year, he began compulsively checking her schedule, asking for details about every colleague, and calling again and again to confirm when she would be home whenever she left.

In the fifth year, she said, "Zhou Huai, I'm tired."

He said, "Do you think I'm useless too?"

Outside the civil affairs bureau, after signing the papers, he looked up at her. "Shi'an, if I hadn't been in that accident..."

"There are no what-ifs." She cut him off, her voice weary. "Let's set each other free."

A year after the divorce, she thought she could finally breathe the air of freedom.

But he began a pursuit he refused to give up.

"Shi'an, the doctor says I'll never stand again."

"But no one says a broken mirror can't be put back together."

The tide always returns to shore. Can you... come back to me?
