It's an Exotic Pet, Not a Lover [Insectoid]

4040

One day, the science division of the Blue Star Federation casually dumped a batch of defective modified humans on a garbage planet, as it had done countless times before.

A few days later, while migrating, the Zerg casually discarded an egg with a crack in it, judged incapable of hatching.

In 4044, the tiny planet held a wedding, accidentally kicking off a livestream watched across the universe.

Blue Star finally discovered that the Empire had somehow lost a precious human woman with untainted genes.

The Zerg also learned that a precious male insect, entrusted with the revival of their species, had been drifting abroad for years.

Then they both discovered that these two creatures had gotten together?!

What a waste of precious resources! A human-insect romance has no future and can’t produce children--

But they couldn’t be split up. They really couldn’t!

No one had ever seen such a fierce woman, or such a terrifying male insect!

Truly, they’d stand together even against the whole world.

One day,

Woman (turning on the TV): I found a job.

Male insect (eyes lighting up) (snuggling close): Does it pay well? Can you take on the responsibility of supporting the family? Can I eat, go straight to sleep, then wake up and spend money?

Woman (calmly): Hmm... I’ll try hard... I think I can?

Male insect (happily imagining it) (imagining it happily again) (his smile slowly fading) (irritated) (snatching the remote): You can’t! They still haven’t given up, have they?! (pacing in circles) I’ll take a battleship and blast them! Those idiots are hopeless! *T*&!#@*&% (a stream of colorful curses)!*% (more colorful curses)!...
