[One Piece] The Heart Pirates' 22 Rules for Surviving the Strange

There was a new recruit aboard the ship.

"Hello, senior. My name is Qiangbalu. Do we have any ship rules or guidelines here? I'd like to learn how things work."

The newcomer was five meters tall and had a naturally fearsome face, but now he looked rather nervous.

"We do," I said, scratching my head. "The first rule is that crew members must obey the captain's orders."

The other man nodded as he wrote it down. "Of course."

I continued, "The second rule is that you must show the captain proper respect."

"Mm, of course."

"The third rule is that everyone aboard must wear the same uniform."

The burly man lit up. "So you'll issue me a uniform too?"

"That's right." I nodded. "The fourth rule is, don't sneak out in the middle of the night to wash your crewmates' uniforms."

"Mm... Mm?"

"The fifth rule is, no recommending sterilization surgery aboard the ship."

"?"

I racked my brain. "Which rule are we on? Oh, if you find something in your food, tell the captain. Don't pick it up and put it on the captain's meal while he's eating."

"..."

"When the captain says 'theoretically impossible,' it means 'no.'"

The recruit stared blankly.

"And 'theoretically possible' also means 'no.'"

The recruit's eyes glazed over.

"It's forbidden to feel anything for the captain beyond respect."

The recruit looked as if he wanted to say something, but stopped himself.

At last, he couldn't help asking, "Aren't these ship rules a little strange?"

I fell silent.

There used to be only one rule on the ship.

Then someone started making things difficult for me, and the rules began multiplying without end.
