A Ledger of Life and Death

Smiling tiger top x temperamental cat bottom

Ying Buran works in the underworld. After refusing to enter the cycle of reincarnation, he opened a Yellow Springs Inn in the underworld. He spends his days playing with cats and dogs, and life is fairly peaceful.

He's been in the underworld for a thousand years, and has seen countless people enter the cycle of reincarnation and return to the Yellow Springs.

Until one day, he met a handsome man.

The man had only just arrived in the underworld, yet seemed to have drunk Meng Po's soup already. His memory was as clean as a blank sheet of paper.

The man asked him, "Do you know what my name is? People here say you know everything."

Ying Buran looked at him and suddenly smiled.

"Do you know where you are?"

"The underworld?"

"No, this is the end of time."

(Temporary synopsis. I haven't fully worked it out yet, and will keep adding to it later. Basically, it's a story about an underworld employee who moonlights as a guide, coaxing people onto the Bridge of Meng Po, while also finding redemption himself.)
