The Player Must Make Gogol Great Again

(This novel is expected to launch at the end of October.)

A player discovers a hidden gem of a game. The player decides to conquer it and become its ruler.

As everyone knows, players are a natural disaster.

After falling for the face of Gogol, the protagonist of the newest full-dive online game, Keyu enters the game Who's the Legendary King of Yokohama?

What's the main story? No idea.

What's the main quest? No clue.

The player sets Yokohama on the road to fame single-handedly.

Then one day, he hears a cheerful voice inside his body: "Question: who are you?"

Thinking the story has finally started, the player answers without hesitation: "I'm Gogol."

The Clown: "...If you're Gogol, then who am I?"

Keyu, who skips every cutscene, gazes blankly at him. "Dunno!"

One day, Gogol discovers that someone has taken over his body. At first, he thinks he's been ambushed.

The free-spirited bird trapped inside his body vows to kill the intruder.

But then the intruder starts shouting things like "freedom" and "wife," and firmly insists that he is Gogol. Gogol decides he understands: this is a second personality split off from him, one perfectly tailored to his tastes.

You say you're Gogol, and I believe you, again and again.

Watching the little bird shout "freedom" just from climbing over a wall, the bird decides to be a little kinder to this sheltered, pitiful personality. Once he has seen the world, the bird will grant him the freedom of release.

But before Gogol can act, the other person disappears.

It isn't until he sees the other person curled up in a ball again in a dark, cramped room that he understands why the little bird could feel free with even the tiniest patch of sky.

In the room he loves, Keyu receives a package of game merchandise featuring the protagonist. Before he can even set up his new wifey, Gogol suddenly appears out of thin air.

Keyu nearly suffocates.

Help, help, help! The paper character is alive! This gloomy shut-in, whose room is covered in paper characters, can't handle this!

Cute, head-empty evil player vs. cheerful, clever Gogol
