[Older seme + equally matched leads + school life + bad ending]
[Read at your own risk, everyone! This is the author's only school-life novel, and it hasn't been revised, so proceed with caution.]
I'm revising Intermediate Guidance, then I'll work on this one.
Jiang Yao x Yu Ling
They met during the first snowfall of that year. Yu Ling made the first move and chose to befriend Jiang Yao, and so their story began.
Yu Ling: “Oi, handsome, want to add me on WeChat?”
Jiang Yao: “Don't spread rumors. I don't like adding random people.”
As time passed, their relationship gradually grew closer. They went from evenly matched rivals to friends who could share their true feelings, and then to something that neither of them could bring themselves to call anything but “friendship.”
Yu Ling didn't want to face what they were to each other, but feelings couldn't be hidden. They helped and understood each other, becoming each other's greatest salvation.
Sadly, their happiness didn't last. With less than a year until the college entrance exams, Jiang Yao was confirmed to have cancer. After testing the waters several times, he finally chose to tell Yu Ling the truth. Yu Ling tried hard to ignore and forget the painful news, but Jiang Yao's steadily worsening health was impossible to ignore.
That winter break, Jiang Yao kept his promise to Yu Ling and went to see the sea. South Korea lay just 430 kilometers across the water. Yu Ling was so overwhelmed by happiness that he even forgot Jiang Yao was dying, and wouldn't live past that winter.
Jiang Yao looked into his eyes, a few unshed tears in his own. “Don't forget me.”
Yu Ling: “Remembering you costs me nothing.”
In the end, Jiang Yao couldn't escape his fate. He died in the last snowfall of that winter, while Yu Ling carried on living, holding on to Jiang Yao's beliefs.

I don't know if I'm biased against new authors or if I don't really like reading campus articles. I felt that this dialogue was written too slowly.
😣 Such delicate feelings, I had a withdrawal reaction after reading it
