[The Powerful One Bows His Head]

[Actress x Man in Power, Ambitious Woman x Ambitious Man]

Yun Zhao's rule for life: Never waste your effort.

With no one to rely on as a child, she was called a burden, yet shamelessly stayed at her aunt's house and ate her fill;

With no one to protect her as a teenager, she worked like a beast of burden for her younger half-brother, just to earn the chance to study;

With no connections after entering the industry, she didn't care what anyone thought. She rode others' coattails and chased hot topics, earning the nickname "red carpet star" for a time.

When her career hit a bottleneck, she sat on the lap of the man at the head of the table during a dinner gathering, right in front of everyone's eyes.

"Mr. Yu, would you honor me with a drink?"

The Yu family had deep roots and a powerful legacy. The refined heir of this aristocratic family had a cold face that kept people at a distance, and a temperament like snow atop a mountain.

He stood apart from the world, untouched by its passions.

Everyone remembered what had happened to those who offended Yu Huaisheng, and couldn't help worrying for Yun Zhao.

Her jade-white arms looped around his neck, her eyes alluring as silk. This splendid flower who moved freely through the world could steal everyone's gaze.

Yu Huaisheng turned his attention to her.

"All right."

-

With Yu Huaisheng's backing, Yun Zhao could practically do as she pleased in the industry, enjoying a moment of unparalleled fame.

When she heard that Yu Huaisheng's first love was returning to the country and that he would soon be marrying her, Yun Zhao cut off their five-year entanglement without hesitation and headed into the mountains, where there was no phone signal, to film a movie.

During filming, a landslide trapped the entire crew in a hotel as they waited for the roads to be cleared.

In the dead of night, amid a torrential downpour, someone knocked on her door.

The always-aloof and dignified Yu Huaisheng stood outside, covered in mud, like a stray dog.

Yu Huaisheng gritted his teeth, no longer wearing his usual air of calm detachment.

"Miss Yun, you sure left decisively."

Her gaze was as still and clear as water, without the slightest ripple.

"That's right. I don't become anyone's mistress."

-

Yu Huaisheng had seen plenty of people in the world of wealth and fame, their faces warped beyond recognition by its influence. Yun Zhao was no exception.

The moment his heart softened for her was nothing more than when he met her eyes, red and stinging after someone had forced her to drink.

A young master and an actress: haven't all the romantic tales of beauty and love been sung this way since ancient times?

Each gets what they want, then parts on good terms.

But he never imagined that one day he, too, would bend down, just to beg Yun Zhao.

"Didn't you want to use me? No one could be better for that."

-

"A straightforward exchange of benefits."

Apart from that, Yu Huaisheng wouldn't let her ask for anything, not even allow her to entertain the thought.

"Most importantly..." His eyes held no warmth. "I hate losing control, Miss Yun. Can you do that?"

Yun Zhao pressed her lips together and nodded, afraid she'd say something she could never take back.

But she had miscalculated one thing. Even with her lips sealed, love could still spill from her eyes.
