The Nightingale God and the Golden Holy Spirit were twin sisters who shared one life. They were punished for betraying the Godfather. The mortal paradise split in two: one part became Meiyijin, where the main story takes place, while the other became Nightingale Continent, forever lost to darkness.
Meiyijin chooses a secular Holy Spirit to spread the teachings of the Holy Advent Church and give thanks to the Golden Holy Spirit. The protagonist, Zhou Jingzhang, is the chosen secular Holy Spirit. But he wants to escape the constraints of the church and the royal court and find meaning in his own life.
The other protagonist, Yu Shuochi, comes from Nightingale Continent. He was considered ill-omened from childhood, but was later brought to Meiyijin by the Nightingale God, intending to save his dark homeland.
At eighteen, he joined the royal army. Using his status, he helped Zhou Jingzhang escape the constraints of his role as the secular Holy Spirit. He was forced to take part in a decade-long war for political power, which ended with him overthrowing the Meiyijin Empire.
The new regime's banner was raised. Yu Shuochi returned as a glorious general, meeting Zhou Jingzhang again as he struggled to survive, wandering at the bottom of society. Zhou Jingzhang also had the two children he had accidentally conceived when he ran away all those years ago.
The story begins.
Note 1: Zhou Jingzhang (zhang) evokes roses growing astonishingly over time. The name carries the author's love and blessings for their son. If you think it sounds bad, then Orz.

This story has a dark tone and features religious gods and spirits. Pay attention to the timeline to better understand the plot. The story is designed like a plate of tomato sauce, crimson and dripping with rich sweetness. Some scenes may be upsetting.
But I promise everything happens for a reason. The story is logically consistent, with no pointless angst or gratuitous darkness.
The full context behind the romance won't be revealed until the second volume. If you have the patience to read that far, I would be honored.
The plot and romance both move quickly. If you notice the details, they're details; if you don't, then these words will have been needless fussing (please don't let that happen).
Note 3: Have you already learned the worldbuilding? (I personally think spoilers affect the reading experience, but readers have said the blended setting is hard to understand, so I've added a little here.) Also, the world includes basic modern urban amenities. And yes, ABO and mpreg.
