In your previous life, you were a senior employee of Gotham's richest man.
Because you were too close to your boss, a villain captured you and killed you in pieces.
In this life, you are reborn as Gotham's richest man, with nothing but money to your name.
You decide to take back everything that belongs to you!
In the end, you're sitting on more savings than you could ever spend and own a mansion on Apokolips.
There's even a Gotham City cat named Batman at home.
Sorry, maybe you took a little too much, but never mind.
Brucey is a Gothamite and a rookie vigilante.
One day, he realizes he might be getting kept by the richest man in town.
The rich man trusts him in a strange way and never hesitates to shower him with money.
Brucey worries the rich man might go bankrupt one day.
Later, the rich man runs into financial difficulties and has to marry into the richest family next door.
After thinking it over, Brucey realizes it's all his fault. He has to make confessing his feelings a priority.
On the day he confesses, he takes off his mask and sees the rich man freeze.
The rich man stares at his face for a long time, then flees.
Brucey: "?"
For the first time, he has serious doubts about his own face.
And the rich man disappears just like that, though he still sends Brucey money on a regular schedule.
The heartbroken cat stays calm.
Until one day, during a rescue mission across universes, he discovers the rich man working with another version of himself.
The abandoned cat is furious.
Alanna has only one goal in this life: enjoy herself.
After taking in Brucey, she has one more: love her cat well.
Anyone who gets in the way of those two things can get out of the galaxy.
A few things to know before reading:
This follows the canon Batman setup. Brucey comes from a working-class family, with both parents alive and plenty of friends.
This idea isn't fully developed yet, but I'm posting it anyway. It's a sweet little story.
Aside from the neighboring Marvel universe, there may also be crossovers with SPN, POI, and TBBT.
