Rumor has it he was born with a talent for evil: as a child, he bullied old men and little kids, and as a teenager, he set his own home ablaze and burned it to the ground.
After recalling all this, Ye Muqiu’s innate sense of right and wrong compels her to accept this difficult and heroic mission.
“I’ll take care of him, all right.”
And so Ye Muqiu begins plotting to assassinate the villain.
Her first attempt goes badly. Not only does she accidentally injure an ally, but the handsome demon lord catches her red-handed. “And what might you be doing, miss?”
Ye Muqiu flees in a panic.
For her next attempt, she prepares for every contingency and waits for an opening. Who could have guessed that one sword strike would restore the wounded demon lord to full health? He grabs her by the collar and gives her an amused smile. “I remember you, Miss Ye.”
This is the end of the road. Now she’s going to die. Ye Muqiu despairs.
“I’m going to marry you.”

Wait, hold on a second! Why? Is the demon lord a masochist? Has he decided they’re old friends, all on his own? No, she hasn’t even agreed! She’d rather die than marry someone like him.
Even if she died today, Ye Muqiu would leap a hundred meters from this demon palace rather than have anything to do with this guy!

“But you’re so good to kiss.”

Helan: The most interesting little thing in the world.
Offended Qiuqiu: Damn it, you’re the most insane old thing in the world.
Helan furrows his brows, leans in until their noses touch, then blinks and smiles at her. “Am I that old?”
Qiuqiu turns bright red. “Y-you... stay away from me!”
He understands. “Hmm, then I guess I’m not that old after all.”
