At one in the morning, a new post appeared on the forum:
[How do I pursue the guy I like?]
First reply: [Easy. Wear pretty skirts, flirt online, and act cute. What guy could resist? Oh, and it's important to arrange chance encounters and show him your unexpected side!]
The next few replies made even wilder claims.
Zhu Chi thought he understood. Sort of.
After he logged off, someone quietly added a comment under the post: [Everyone above, be careful what you say. What if the poster is a guy too?]
-
In his first year of college, Zhu Chi fell in love at first sight with Xi Ting, a senior.
Xi Ting was A University's campus heartthrob, and everyone knew he was homophobic.
Everyone, that is, except Zhu Chi, who rarely followed gossip and was completely out of the loop.
-
To run into Xi Ting, Zhu Chi joined the astronomy club.
To seem unexpected, he acted aloof, kept his replies short, and wouldn't type a word if he could get away with replying “1.” His clothes were the definition of a cool, distant guy. He played the part so well that everyone in the club knew him as the cold, reserved type.
One club member joked, “Xi Ting, you and Zhu Chi must have a lot in common. You're both walking refrigerators.”
At the time, Xi Ting had just received a photo from his online girlfriend and was saving it to his album with practiced ease.
He didn't comment. Zhu Chi was just like his second-year high school cousin, who called himself a cool school bully. Both were total posers.
-
Then one winter evening, Xi Ting spotted Zhu Chi in a quiet back garden, crouched beside some bushes and coaxing a cat with a tube of treats. “Kitty, sweetie, come here for a cuddle.”
He was wearing a long pajama jacket with floppy rabbit ears. When he stood up, Xi Ting caught a glimpse of what he had on underneath... a skirt.
Xi Ting took out his phone and spent a while comparing Zhu Chi to the photo his online girlfriend had sent half an hour earlier.
He turned off his phone.
He nearly laughed in disbelief.
