Even Tyrants Deserve Some Pity

An Guiying had not only transmigrated, he wasn't even human. He was a cat.

After being pampered with the finest food and comforts, he was presented to the tyrant.

Main mission: Win over the tyrant.

And the tyrant had just ordered his guards to drag a minister away.

Well, forget the mission for now. The real question was whether he would survive.

-

At their first meeting, An Guiying cautiously tried to act cute.

The tyrant's first words were, "Take it away. Throw it out."

At their second meeting, An Guiying offered the tyrant his tail to pet.

The tyrant coldly grabbed him by the scruff of the neck, right at the point of his fate.

At their third meeting, the System issued a mission: touch any part of the tyrant's face.

An Guiying could stand it no longer. He gave up pretending to be good, leaped onto the tyrant's shoulder, and rubbed his fur all over his face.

The good news: the tyrant didn't get angry.

The bad news: the tyrant stroked him from head to tail until his legs nearly gave way.

Everyone in the palace knew His Majesty had gotten himself a little cat.

The little cat turned the emperor's bedchamber into a complete mess, but His Majesty didn't get angry. Instead, he pampered it like royalty.

That day, the ministers once again urged His Majesty to take a consort, then sighed and went home empty-handed.

But that night, a servant happened to peer through the barely open crack in a door and saw a person sitting in the emperor's arms. Their skin was as pale as fine jade, and they wore nothing but a loosely draped robe embroidered with dragons.

A short, sweet story with very, very, very little court intrigue!
