A 21st-century Chinese-British girl, estranged from her parents and left with nothing but money, becomes an 18th-century girl whose mother beats her and whose illness goes untreated. Viola is heartbroken to discover that not only has she lost her family, she has no money either. Luckily, after awakening memories of her past life, she still has her wits about her. She makes it into a charity school and begins a new life of hard study and earning money.
Unexpectedly, just when her luck seems to have hit rock bottom, it turns around. Her father, an earl, arrives to take his only daughter home and inherit the family estate. Could such a good thing really fall from the sky? Viola is skeptical. She waits and waits, until she has eaten her pie and become the one baking it. After handing out even more pies, she has become an earl renowned in Britain and abroad.
Years later, Viola says that it was only when she arrived in London that she truly came to know this world. It turns out that a woman who transmigrated from China became empress, setting the world on an entirely new and unknown course. There are fleets armed with powerful guns, highly coveted goods, and free-spirited female officials and envoys traveling back and forth. Steam and electricity make everything seem possible. At first, she thinks of herself as just passing through, until she starts a women's newspaper, pushes for reforms to restrict inheritance, and supports women campaigning for the right to vote...
She is here to create a new world.
PS: A woman who transmigrated from China once became empress, changing everything. Europe was dramatically affected, but this is an alternate world! A crossover with works from both Eastern and Western literature. I especially want to write stories like Jane Bennet becoming the heir to Longbourn, and Daiyu traveling to Britain as an envoy. Please don't nitpick the historical details. I just want to write a fun power fantasy, so don't take it too seriously. There are twists and secrets surrounding the backgrounds of the female lead and Cecil. I won't break up the canon couples in Pride and Prejudice, but I will break up Jane Eyre and Baoyu and Daiyu. The blurb has been archived.
