On the third day after the college entrance exam, Su Yin dreamed of the future.
In that future, her family was miserable. Her father was fired, her mother was gravely ill, and her maternal grandparents died of sorrow. She was forced to return to her biological parents' home, only to die for no apparent reason before summer vacation was even over.
Su Yin thought it was just a dream, but when her maternal grandparents heard it, they were astonished. "How did you know the swaddling cloth looked like that when we found you?"
Su Yin: "...Huh?" Could a nightmare really come true?
The night she uncovered the truth behind her death, Su Yin was drawn into a spirit realm. She found a renowned master, learned from her, and opened the door to a new world.
But Su Yin never expected that the first things cultivation would bring her were neither an early admission letter from the National Defense Cultivation University nor the good fortune of escaping her deadly fate. Instead, a staff member handed her a demolition notice, bringing her family the joy of getting rich from their home being torn down.
Su Yin: "So living right by the entrance to a spirit realm can bring perks like this?"
Afterward, she entered school and kept cultivating. She made friends and found fellow cultivators who shared her path. She broke through one realm after another, won the academy championship, defended the spirit realm, and searched for treasure in the wilderness... After taking care of some personal revenge along the way, she became Earth's number-one sword cultivator and represented the newly born spirit world of Earth on the Central Continent, competing for a higher classification for Earth.
No one had ever heard of people from this spiritless land. Then they learned that these bumpkins from a remote region of spiritual energy had trained for only twelve short years, yet had trounced numerous minor worlds and won the spiritless land the right to independence.
And the girl at their head lit up the Nine Provinces with a single sword strike.
P.S. The heroine has a love interest, but they're not a major presence. This is mainly Su Yin's coming-of-age story.
